NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
At Boomi Public School, Special Religious Education (SRE - commonly known as Scripture) is delivered to students during the term.
On enrolment, parents/carers will be given the SRE partication letter to complete and return.
The following SRE classes offered at Boomi Public School are Combined Scripture for K-2 and 3-6. The special religious education program is of combined scripture with general teachings of scripture.
Classes are provided by volunteer SRE teachers from the St Joseph's Parish, Mungindi belonging to the Catholic Diocese of Armidale.
During the time that SRE classes are being held, students not attending will be located in a separate space and will participate in alternate activities such as reading and private study.
During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.
You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.
